ADD/ADHD Evaluation and Assessment for Professionals

This webpage is devoted to professionals who are looking for a reliable referral for ADD/ADHD evaluation and assessment.

We look forward to working together to assist individuals in need of comprehensive clinical support and intervention.

Collaborative, Evidence-Based ADHD Assessment Services

At Calvert + Associates, we provide comprehensive, research-based ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Our approach is designed to support the multidisciplinary care of clients referred by physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, and other professionals seeking a detailed understanding of executive functioning challenges.

Our testing process emphasizes clinical collaboration, ensuring that each referring provider receives a clear, structured, and actionable report that can be used to guide medical, psychotherapeutic, academic, or occupational interventions.

Overview of the ADHD Assessment Process

We use the Brown Attention-Deficit Disorder Scale and Diagnostic Form—a well-validated and empirical ADHD evaluation and assessment. This assessment consists of two structured components designed to ensure diagnostic clarity and treatment alignment. For more detailed information, visit the ADD/ADHD Testing and Assessment website page.

1. Brown Attention-Deficit Disorder Scale (Screening Phase)

  • A 40–50 item rating scale assessing executive functions—activation, focus, effort, emotion, memory, and action—provides a standardized foundation for identifying ADHD symptom patterns.

2. Brown Diagnostic Form (Clinical Evaluation Phase)

  • A structured clinical interview exploring developmental history, family background, academic and occupational functioning, and emotional regulation. This form allows for differential consideration and comorbidity analysis, ensuring accurate diagnostic formulation.

Why Refer to Calvert + Associates

Why we use the Brown Attention-Deficit Disorder Scale and Diagnostic Form and our approach to clinical collaboration:

Research-Based Assessment

We utilize the Brown Attention-Deficit Disorder Scale and Diagnostic Form—a well-validated and empirical measure of executive functioning and attention regulation across all age groups and as young as three years old.

For more information about examinees under the age of twelve, visit the ADD/ADHD Testing and Assessment website page.

Holistic and Differential Focus

Each assessment evaluates both core ADHD symptomology and comorbid or differential disorders that may present as attentional deficits (e.g., anxiety, depression, learning disorders/difficulties, etc.)

For more information about comorbid or differential disorders, visit the Understanding Comorbidities and Differential Diagnoses in ADD/ADHD website page.

Referral Collaboration

1.  comprehensive written report is developed and shared—with client consent—to the referring provider(s).

2.  Reports may include clinical impressions, supportive diagnostic indicators, and recommendations for medical, educational, and therapeutic interventions.

3.  If medication management is being considered, our assessment provides the structured data necessary to inform prescribing decisions and monitoring.

4.  Additional consultation between the examiner and referring professional is available upon request to review findings and coordinate next steps.

Collaboration Purposes Include:

1.  Medical doctors seeking comprehensive executive function data before prescribing stimulant or non-stimulant medication.

2.  Psychiatrists requiring in-depth ADHD evaluation prior to initiating or adjusting treatment.

3.  Counselors and psychologists desiring diagnostic clarification for treatment planning.

4.  Educators and school-based clinicians requesting documentation to support IEP or 504 Plan implementation, including other academic-related accommodations.

What Professionals Receive

1. full diagnostic summary highlighting ADHD subtype indicators and executive function deficits.

2. Differential and comorbidity considerations to rule out symptom overlap with anxiety, depression, or trauma-related conditions.

3. Individualized recommendations for medication consultation, behavioral therapy, coaching, or academic accommodations.

Referral Reporting & Communication

1. Turnaround Time: Typically 2–3 weeks. Expedited reports can be arranged when time-sensitive needs arise (e.g., upcoming academic transitions).

2. Delivery: Reports can be sent securely to referring providers via encrypted email or fax upon receipt of client release authorization.

3. Follow-Up: Our office encourages feedback sessions to clarify findings with the client or referring professional. This includes treatment planning and steps for moving forward.
